What is Canned Rosé Wine?

Canned rosé wine has been around for a long time, however, the perception of quality may not be as high as it is for bottled wines. Not surprisingly, we are all used to a fancy bottle of wine with a cork, and it's been this way for hundreds of years. But, Is packaging really important?. Is canned wine the same as bottled wine?. In this article, we go deeper into these questions as we try to change the mindset around canned wine. For now, know that canned wine can in fact be a high-quality wine with some added benefits, and such is the case of our Born Rosé Barcelona canned rosé wine.

Is canned rosé wine any good?

The process to make canned rosé wine and bottle rosé is just the same, so the quality of rosé wine doesn’t have much to do with its container. Our canned Born Rosé wine is made with 100% black grenache and tempranillo grapes. It is a rosé wine made with high-quality standards through all its processes starting from the harvest, all the way through fermentation and packaging. However, don´t take our word for it, our canned rosé wine was awarded the Gold Medal by the 2021 International Canned Wine Competition.

It is also true that some wines perform better than others in a can. In general, brighter, fruitful, and aromatic wines such as rosé and white wines perform well. However, this is not the case for more robust red wines. For example, a tempranillo wine red that has been aged on oak barrels, does not perform as well in a can due to the complexity of its flavor profile.

What rosé wines in cans do we have?

Born Rosé offers sparkling rosé wine in a can and canned rosé wine without bubbles. Our cans each have 250 ml of rosé wine which roughly translates to two 5oz glass servings per can. So, which one do you choose? That is totally up to you and your wine preferences. Both versions are elegant, fresh, and aromatic and can be enjoyed in any way you like. Make sure to keep the cans chilled the way they are supposed to between 6-8 ºC.

Why rosé wine in a can?

Now, canned wine seems to be growing in popularity mainly due to how convenient it is to take a 6-pack of your favorite canned rosé wine and just drink it with no glasses, no bottle openers, etc. Canned wine just makes it easier to enjoy your favorite drink at a picnic, your local park, the beach, or anywhere you like.
Our canned rosé wine is also made of highly recyclable material. Although bottles are recyclable too, aluminum cans are easier to recycle. It is estimated that about 70% of all the aluminum ever extracted is still being used today. Canned wine is a more eco-friendly solution and can be recycled indefinitely.
